Course Description: This live, interactive, webinar prepares the dentist, dental hygienist, and dental assistant with the tools to understand E-Cigarette and systemic-oral health implications for their patients. Since their development in 2003, Electronic Cigarettes have rapidly gained popularity. Perceptions regarding safety, reduced harm, prevalence, culture of vaping, marketing, health policy, nicotine addiction, and health implications will be discussed. Understanding incidence of dual users and E-cigarettes, and the role nicotine addiction plays in other addictions is critical to the knowledge of the dental clinician. The dental clinician will also be provided with knowledge of providing a brief Tobacco Dependence Intervention and resources to refer patients to telephonic Quit Lines.
